About Dongshin Church
Dongshin Presbyterian Church started in 1950 and has grown to a congregation of over 4500 people. Presbyterian is primarily a system of church government, but it has also historically referred to a system of doctrine. A presbyterian church, then, is a church which is governed by presuteros, a greek term for “elders”. Also, a presbyterian church is usually Reformed in its doctrine, with its elders believing the Westminster Confession of Faith to be an accurate summary of what the Bible teaches.
We are also broadly Evangelical, meaning that we are neither Roman Catholic nor Eastern Orthodox. However, we embrace all Christians as brothers and sisters in Christ. Also, we welcome and respect people from all backgrounds as human being made in the image of God.
About Getting to Dongshin:
1. Taxi
Practically this is the easiest way to get to Dongshin, however it is costly. Just ask for this address: Dongshin Church Gyo-Hye (church 856-4 Manchon 3-dong Susong-Gu, Daegu Republic of Korea
2. Subway
Subway is the second easiest way to get to Dongshin Church. You need to take the Line 2, or transfer to Line 2 from Line 1. The nearest station is Damti station, and then it is a walking distance to Dongshin Church. Take a look at the map below for direction. Outside the subway stationm, exit 2, go towards the Paris Baguette on the corner and cross the road. Keep walking downhill until you see a small street that has the GM Daewoo and a restaurant on the corner. Turn left and go up the hill. You will see the main building on your right and our meeting room is the building behind the main building. We are on the 5th floor.
Alternatively, if you are coming from the bus, get off at the stop closest to ‘Popeyes’ chicken restaurant. Cross the street to the same side as the Davinci Coffee House and head up the hill towards the Science Polytechnic. When you get to the Seven Eleven convenience store, turn left and go towards the main building. Our meeting room is the building behind the main building. We are on the 3rd floor (Rm302).
3.Buses:
These Buses 724, 309, 909, 990, 100, 509, 649, 840, 349 go near our church or you can ask the driver if the bus goes past ‘dam’ ‘tee’ ‘ji’ ‘ha’ ‘chul’ (damti subway station).
